November 2022 - Healthy Relationships

Hello and welcome to our November counselling blog!

Last month JAWS students and staff focused on positive mindset through calming boxes and guided breathing to reduce stress and anxiety. We will continue building a positive mindset as our students and staff prepare for exams.

This month we are focusing on building and maintaining healthy relationships. Students will reflect on their personal boundaries and explore various conflict resolution skills to enhance healthy relationships in their lives. Relationships include everyone around us; our parents, our children, our friends, our partners, our teachers, and most importantly ourselves! Studies show that people who have healthy relationships are more likely to feel happier, more satisfied, and have an increase of overall well being in their lives; this can also increase your physical and mental health (Zee & Weiss, 2019).
